| ¤ýGraduate School of North
Korean Studies |
Three decades
of research into North Korean Studies performed
by the Institute for Far Eastern Studies (IFES)
and experiences from the operation of the department
of North Korean Studies, School of Administrative
Science , have been marked by the establishment
of the Graduate School of North Korean Studies
in 1997. The School, approved by the Ministry of
Education in 2000 as the nation's first professional
graduate school that covers the area of North Korea
and national unification, has presented new educational
models integrating teaching into research. Such
tradition and experiences led the Hanma Foundation
to the establishment of the university graduate
school of North Korean Studies in 2004. The university
graduate school of North Korean Studies is to
take a leading role as a mecca for the education
and research in the arena of North Korea and national
unification.
